The Swedish Energy Agency supports Slite CCS

The Swedish Energy Agency supports climate change in the cement industry and the CCS project at Heidelberg Materials' plant in Slite within Industriklivet.

Industriklivet is an initiative decided by the Swedish government and aims to reach the climate policy goals by supporting the process industry to reduce and even reach negative greenhouse emissions. Industriklivet is part of the EU's Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), an element of NextGenerationEU, which, among other things, is set to contribute to a more environmentally friendly EU.

To date, the support from Industriklivet amounts to a total of just over SEK 63 million for the implementation of the pre-feasibility study (completed in 2022) and the currently ongoing feasibility study with completion in the spring of 2024.
